Teledentistry

Working together to help our patients & other local doctors

Even though many local dentists are currently limited in their ability to see patients during the current COVID-19 outbreak, we’re proud to be able to do our part locally to help patients and local doctors get what they need during this trying time.

Patients with dental emergencies & TeleDentistry options

Emergency Dental Appointments

We’re currently seeing patients in our office for emergency dental problems per the PA Department of Health and the Pennsylvania Dental Associations guidelines on non-elective procedures. This covers current patients and Central PA residents who might encounter a dental emergency that degrades their quality of life or potentially threatens their overall health during this time. For a complete list of procedures and conditions that are considered non-elective emergencies, please refer to this page: COVID-19 Dental Emergency or Not?

TeleDentistry Appointments

You can talk with one of our dentists via our TeleDentistry program that we’ve started. This will allow you to get in touch with a dentist right from the comfort of your own home without having to leave and potentially exposing yourself to the virus. TeleDentistry is already providing our patients with some answers and solutions to their dental problems by allowing our dentists to have a conversation and evaluation via a video call. TeleDentistry is just one of the ways we’re able to provide dental care to our patients while doing our part to flatten the curve with the COVID-19 virus.

You can call us directly to speak with one of our treatment coordinators about an emergency or TeleDentistry appointment.

Specialized Negative Pressure Surgical Rooms

Some dentists in the area are also restricted because of emergency guidelines that call for certain procedures to be performed in specialized negative pressure surgical rooms to help stop the spread of COVID-19. That’s why we’ve begun installing specialized ventilation & HVAC systems that allow us to create negative pressure surgical suites. This will allow us to serve patients with very severe dental conditions during this time.

The goal of these emergency dental appointments, TeleDentistry appointments, and the specialized negative pressure rooms is to keep as many people out of local emergency rooms as possible. This will help to lighten the demand of emergency rooms at local hospitals.

Are you looking for ways to help local healthcare professionals?

It’s fair to say that during times of crisis, you’ll often find individuals who are unselfish and willing to go above and beyond what is asked of them for the greater good of the community. That’s what’s happening with a number of local dentists as we band together to help out the doctors and healthcare professionals on the front-lines of this current COVID-19 health crisis.

On Monday, March 30th, 2020 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm we’re holding an Essential Item Donation Drive to help local emergency responders and hospital workers get the personal protective equipment (PPE) that they desperately need right now.

We’re currently asking dentists, community members, and businesses to donate medical supplies like N95 masks, surgical gloves, gowns, sanitizer, disinfectant wipes & sprays, saline bags, and toilet paper.

We’ll be collecting donations at Alfano Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and the Pennsylvania Center for Periodontology at 2250 Millennium Way, Enola PA, 17025.
