Originally from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Dr. Anel Bašić moved to the United States at age eight. His family was fortunate to receive support from a family of dentists who sponsored and helped them as they built their new life in America. Their generosity inspired Dr. Bašić at a young age and instilled in him a desire to one day give back to his community in a similar way. Dentistry soon became his goal and has remained a passion throughout his life.
Dr. Bašić grew up in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Camp Hill High School in 2010. He earned his undergraduate degree in Sociology and Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a master’s degree in Biomedical Science from Barry University in Miami. He then attended Temple University in Philadelphia for dental school before completing his oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Outside of work, Dr. Bašić has practiced Judo since the age of 15 and still enjoys competing from time to time. He also enjoys staying active outdoors through swimming, hiking, running, and off-roading.
